I think my favorite was Eye Of Corruption with Chaos Beam x 2, Curse of Doom, Nightmare for its moves but it ended up being just as fast. Dibbler was a more common pet I decided. Finally beat this sob using this strategy, started with Iron Plating first, then you must ensure you can get off a toxic smoke on Rocko before Iron Starlette dies.

Didn't work at all. Last fight, Death Talon didn't do enough damage. Opponent had more health than Death Talon did at what should have been the conclusion.

First two times the Whelpguard couldn't outdamage Rocko healing. Worked on the third try for me

Worked for me, but on Turn 8 instead of wind up (had low health), did Toxic Smoke instead. Helped DT finish Rocko off in case of stone form.

Rocko out heals my Death Talon Whelpguard EVERY TIME! I replace it with a Tiny Apparition using 212 config and won on the first try.

This strat seems to be RNG or breed dependent. It failed the first time - the Death Talon Whelpguard couldn't out damage Rocko's healing. He won with about 16 HP left. I tried it again and got an extra hit on him with the Iron Starlette before it died, and I was able to finish it, but my Whelpguard was still one turn from dying. For reference, my pet breeds are:

Lil' Bling - SS
Iron Starlette - PB
Death Talon Whelpguard - PP
