RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

Turn 7 my IMP was swapped in, I suspect its subject to RNG.

Edit: 2nd run it worked as intended, probably just need to make a note on HP requirement and whether to restart but other than that it works pretty well (edited)

dsc wrote on 2017-09-09 13:19:26

I grabbed this from wowhead, took 3 tries due to 2nd demolish missing but it worked.
Demolish is used which has 50% hit chance. It needs to hit 2 times out of 4 to win, which seems quite easy... unless you're cursed by RNG gods like me and had to play 10 games to accomplish this :) Good luck anyway.

Anubusath Idol 2, 1, 1
Father Winter's Helper 2, 1, 1
Rotten Little Helper 2, 2, 1

1. idol -> deflect
2. switch -> father
3. father -> ice tomb
4. switch -> idol
5. rotten -> gift
6. switch -> idol
7. idol -> deflect
8. switch -> father
9. father -> tomb
10. father -> pass
11. idol -> demolish
12. idol -> demolish
13. idol -> deflect
14. switch -> rotten
15. rotten -> tomb
16. rotten -> pass
17. idol -> demolish
18. idol -> demolish

First try worked great thanks.

Dionysia wrote on 2017-09-27 00:17:05

Only strat that worked!! Got it on the first try even with Idol missing twice! Thank you!

Robusta wrote on 2017-11-19 14:08:49

Hit both demolish on 11/12 so on 17 I did deflection and killed Shadeflicker with tomb from turn 15.

FuxieDK wrote on 2017-09-08 19:03:43

Fairly stupid, to use an Alliance-only pet, that have no identical horde counterpart..

Lizzerazu wrote on 2017-10-23 10:22:45

The horde counterpart is Legionnaire Murky. He will change after what faction you are on. so if you are on an alliance character you will have knight-captain, and on a horde you will have the legionnaire

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-25 00:36:39

The phase shift is broken on this elite..it's supposed to last 1 round, not the 2. Blizz needs to fix it. I've tried EVERY strat on this site, including the ones in the comments, and not one comes close with any breed. There's comments on the blizzard boards pointing out the phase shift issue.

Simca wrote on 2017-10-06 01:17:15

This is actually not a bug, and it is the entire point of the Speed stat, basically. 1 round abilities always last effectively 2 rounds - the round they cast it and the following round. You can see this to be true when you are going second - if you cast Dodge, your pet will have the Dodge buff at the end of the first round, and then throughout the entire next round. The same situation will occur if you go first.

Ack wrote on 2017-09-22 08:41:03

This fight is a complete bugger. The biggest problem is RNG and I have to question whether Blizzard are being honest about 50% on Demolish because I've tries so many times I've lost count and am getting only 1 out of 4 hits at best, often 0 out four hits, (even allowing for his dodge). The Demolish hits like a truck IF it hits, but it's a very, very RNG heavy fight. *goes back out to try again*

addenda: Go figure, next fight, hit him 3 times in a row and killed it without the last stage with Murky! As I said, it's a very RNG reliant fight.

Ardriana wrote on 2017-09-06 07:32:15

Harahwah's strat works, however you'll need to use deflection between turn 9 and 10, else Knight-Captain Murky will get swapped in too soon.

Daedrynn wrote on 2017-09-08 05:46:31

THIS!!! The strat is clearly missing a step. Without a Deflection between 9 and 10, there's no way to make this work. Please update this strat! Works great if you include that one Deflection.

Changed, thank you!

Luxalor wrote on 2017-09-07 12:02:17

This is really really tough. I took a page from Caomhin's play book after hours of trying his exact strat. I made one change and I don't know how much RNG played into it but... I thought I would share.

Corefire Imp (P/S 2,2,2)
Thistleleaf Adventurer (H/S 1,1,2)
Squirky (B/B 2,2,2)

Followed all the same, but left the thislteleaf in until the second gateway (that had 2 frolicks and a second Dance when he phase shifted) Bubble then Stampede. When the Imp gets pulled in Wild Magic and Flame thrower (I had to wait out a phase shift), When squirky comes back in, stampede.

Hope it helps.

Kain wrote on 2017-09-07 12:30:03

Not really :-( Don't know what went wrong, exactly. TA went out on second Void Gate, with little health left and renewed Dance. Squirky couln't block second Void Gate and got killed, and Imp had nothing to finish him. And because Dance ended, TA got rekt instantly.

Caoimhin wrote on 2017-09-06 05:26:27

I wanted to bang my head on the desk during this one. I also have a REALLY RNG based team. It took me 12-15 tries to get it to work, but all the pets are obtainable.
Wretched Servant 2,2,1 B/B / Thistleleaf Adventurer 1,1,2 H/S / Squirky 2,2,2 B/B
Start with Servant, pass
Frolick
Dazzling Dance
(Now this is where i tried a whole mess of things. Either Scratch or keeping dazzling dance up.. it all depends on RNG with the dodges. You want Dance to be up as long as possible. You do eventually want your Thistleleaf to be void gated out by Shadeflicker.
Squirky comes in. Bubble (if Shadeflicker uses phase shift, switch to your Servant.)
Wild Magic - Squirky gets forced in
Stampede until the fight is won (your dazzling dance should still be up, you can risk stampede again, fish slap or Bubble if off cd. Your choice)
Bubble
Stampede

It is far from perfect, but this fight is very tough.

This one's really tough. Thank you very much for posting your strategy! I put it up as the primary one. Hope I wrote it in the right order. Please correct me if it's wrong (can't test it right now, I neither have the pets nor Mac'aree unlocked, yet)

Caoimhin wrote on 2017-09-06 17:33:08

No problem.. I was working on this and some other fights and was so frustrated and tired I didn't want to try again. It really is a blessing of rng to win this fight right now.

Saryas wrote on 2017-09-06 11:34:31

For horde players: the pet is called Legionnaire Murky :)

Saryas wrote on 2017-09-06 11:49:30

And just realised...doesnt have the same abilities :/...that's a bit unfair...you could use Shieldstorm instead of Queue Dodge, and this way the other pets get to avoid some damage as well.
